Action Target has designed an innovative combination of steel, wood, and acoustical tile to create our safety baffles— one of the most critical safety concerns in any indoor range. These safety baffles ensure errant bullets can't escape to the outside, providing ballistic protection to lights, pipes, ventilation ducts, and other structures, while also delivering sound abatement, and a polished, professional appearance to the range.

The Action Target baffle system is a crucial component of the range. It is specifically engineered and designed to not allow any rounds to leave a range. Instead, every round fired is directed safely towards the trap. Baffles in close proximity to shooters on both fixed firing line ranges and tactical ranges are specifically designed to contain splatter and ricoochet of a bullet. This reduces the risk of injury to a shooter in the case of an accidental discharge into the ceiling.

Two classes of baffles are available—ATI Class 1 and ATI Class 2. ATI Class 1 baffles are designed for use on pistol ranges, while the ATI Class 2 baffles are designed for use on rifle ranges. For more information on baffle ratings, please reference the Ballistic Class chart.

Action Target's SureStop™ Rubber blocks and panels encapsulate rounds, eliminate splatter, and prevent bullet ricochets in both indoor and outdoor live-fire applications. SureStop Rubber is comprised of a proprietary blend of carefully-selected media and specialty binders. Its optimal ballistic and acoustic properties have been rigorously tested and verified by external organizations.

SureStop ballistic rubber blocks can be easily stacked and repositioned within a range.  When used as a system in conjunction with Action Target steel panels they provide a ballistic barrier that contains bullet splatter and lead dust.

Action Target's Wall Deflectors are an extremely cost effective method for containing rounds within the range and protecting areas downrange from errant rounds. Wall Deflectors deflect bullets into the trap while protecting the structure of the building.

Wall Deflectors are made of hardened AR500 steel and can be manufactured and installed at a 0° or 15° angle on the wall, depending on the logistics of the range. Panels are manufactured in five foot sections and are approximately eight inches wide.

The Training Ammunition Combat (TAC) House is a non-ballistic training tool for adaptive urban assault, building search and clearing as well as force-on-force training. TAC House is designed for use with simulated ammunition rounds, marking cartridges, or blanks.

In order to provide better training, a shoot house needs to provide multiple options for entering and exiting, as well as reconfigurable layouts. MATCH™ utilizes sliding ballistic panels that accomplish this perfectly. The MATCH™ panels are attached to support rails that make these panels easy to slide into the desired position and maintain the same 100% ballistic environment as the rest of the building. These panels are available as doors and windows. Rooms can be closed off, hallways expanded, and blind alcoves created. This reconfiguration virtually increases the size of a shoot house and greatly increases training potential.

Action Target has been building shooting ranges since 1986 and has learned a thing or two about range ventilation. There are many imitators, but only Action Target has the knowledge to keep shooting ranges safe and clean both inside and out. One of the most important aspects of keeping ranges clean is filtration. Action Target offers two filtration configurations that adapt to the needs of any shooting range.

A recirculating ventilation system reuses air from the range after filtering to ensure that reintroduced air is clean. Because the system uses air that is already cooled or heated, these systems require less energy to function. Recirculating systems can be set up to remove humidity from the range. Heating and mechanical cooling systems are available.

A purge system draws air from the atmosphere, introduces it into the range, filters the air, and then releases cleaned air back into the atmosphere. Purge systems use prefilters that are changed monthly and HEPA filters that are changed every 2,400 hours.

The Sunnydale Community Center will provide civic and recreational amenities inspired by nature for a community that has long-awaited such facilities. The project is intended to serve as the heart and soul of the HOPE neighborhood in San Francisco, elevating the livelihood of the culturally diverse, mixed-income population that resides there. The Sunnydale Community Center was the recipient of a California Mass Timber Building Competition grant and features cross-laminated timber (CLT) floors and roof structure supported by Glulam columns and beams and a steel brace frame lateral system.

Live Oak Bank Building 4, will accommodate 400 employees in a four-story, 64,000 SF addition to its rapidly growing corporate campus. The structure will be the first to use cross-laminated timber as a market differentiator while also meeting its sustainability mission and vision. Aside from the steel envelope, the vast majority of Building 4 utilizes a mass timber structural system. The exterior materials of the project will follow the precedent set by the campus, with a combination of cypress siding, metal panels, and curtain walls to add transparency to the building and views.

Timberlab will fabricate the glulam timber and cross-laminated timber (CLT) components in its newly opened Greenville, South Carolina fabrication facility utilizing the region's Southern Yellow Pine (SYP) species. Additionally, Timberlab provided timber engineering and design for the exposed wood-to-wood connection. The new Live Oak Bank building will provide tenants with beautiful, exposed timber interiors in addition to its exterior surrounded by trees - creating a bounty of biophilic connectivity. The building is designed to achieve LEED Silver certification.

This 275,000 square foot mixed-use project spans five stories, with 158,000 square feet of mass timber office and lab-ready space, over a concrete podium parking garage and warehouse for Dunn Lumber. The project will be located on the Northeast side of Lake Union, with access to the Cheshiahud Lake Union Loop. Weber Thompson's design of Northlake Commons "draws inspiration from the experience of being deep within the woods of the Pacific Northwest."

The high-performance lab-ready office building pays homage to the timber roots of the Dunn family business located on this street from 1931 to today. The structural system is comprised of CLT panels atop glulam columns and girders, with a steel Buckling-Restrained Braced Frame lateral system.

The mass timber structural system will have a lighter footprint than other structural alternatives; a Life Cycle Assessment of the embodied carbon in the timber will be calculated to understand the impact compared to more conventional construction types. The project is pursuing LEED CS Gold and Fitwel Certification.
